Untitled

I start pacing, heart racing, feeling more violent than ever, I just wanna step outside and go wild on whoever, but I’m way better than that.

Mama raised me way more clever than that.

But under this cap of pride under which I hide, lies the spirit of 9 lions, so I take it all in stride.

Thundering why's, plundering byes, and comforting lies told to myself are the only things that help me get back to seeing eye to eye with my battered reflection.

Left guessin, my imagination runs like a thoroughbred straight out of the gates of hell, bent on trampling my mind body & soul with the pull of 10 locomotives.

I love her, and she knows it.

And even though she doesn’t always show it, when we gaze into each other’s eyes, it makes us see through fake disguises.

And there we sit.

Two kids, fighting over who took the last cookie from the cookie jar, instead of finding this peace we’ve been looking for.

Arm in arm, at arms with a swarm of negativity buzzing past our ears, its no wonder that’s all we can hear.

In this cloudy uncertainty, i miss you.

And when its clear, it'll be crystal.

Till then, just whistle.

From UrbanDictionary.com

4. Will

A trench coat wearing, tall, blue eyed son of a bitch. Usually is proficient in some form of self defence, and just as likely to kick someone's ass in an argument than reason with them.

A Will usually carries two different personalities. There is the fiery emotional character who is caring, compassionate, and aggressive when angered, as well as the cold, contemplative warrior that he is frequently percieved as. Described as having "unlimited patience, and unlimited rage".

Well known for their craftsmanship, creative, and/or debating skills. Feelings towards them are usually extreme, being either deep affection or incredible hate. They dislike making enemies but strangely take pleasure in physical fighting, and are sometimes too quick to resolve situations with physical force.

Overall, though they may be intimidating at first, they are often kind people at heart, and are prone to emotional damage resulting from failed or lost relationships. As a slight result of this, many "Will"-type people are social nomads, not really binding with any type of social clique and working best by themselves.

Though a trait that they are certainly not proud of, some Wills are so eager to create friends, not enemies, that they will lie, and this actually leads to loosing in relationships, further on. They fiercely adhere to their beliefs however, and some even live by a veritable "code of honor", somewhat like modern-day samurai.
"He was pulling some real stuff... and he was so aggressive with him!" Thomas spoke to his friend, recollecting the earlier fight. "He usually doesn't seem like this; perhaps he's turning into another Will?"

Locked Away... I love this song!!!

[Verse: Pharrell Williams]

Changed your mind

I made you live a lover's life

Changed your mind about all guys

No kiss at the end of the night

But if you will with me

When I'm sure that you can see

So when I ask you, "How you think it'd be?"

Just when I thought you would say to me... No!

[Chorus: Pharrell Williams] (Spymob vocalists)

You keep me locked away (locked aaa-wayy..)

You don't want - to admit

About me and you (meee and yoouuu..)

Hey! But I don't care cause

You make life worth living (living..)

You make love worth giving (giving..)

You make time worth spending (spending..)

Well why ain't we worth admitting? (admitting..)

[Verse: Pharrell Williams]

When you were in my arms

Though inside, I could see the stars

As if they were not far

I read what they were sayin

They said the world is yours

With her make it better

So imagine you two together

It'd be so amazing

[Chorus]

[Verse: Pharrell Williams]

(Hey..)

Hey but what if you

Miraculously feel what I do

Our split up can't beat us two

If I could speak in invisible proof

And you're writing the same

Except you swap our names

Trying to figure out this weird ass game

And you're like real confused.. shit

[Chorus]

[Outro: Spymob vocalists]

Locked away.. mee and yoouuu

Living.. giving

Spending.. admitting

How Women Argue... funny, but oh so true...

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are
right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an
hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given
five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something,
and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing
usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement
often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an
idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and
arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of
nothing.)

(6) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women
can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard
before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just
say you’re welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true,
unless she says ‘Thanks a lot’ - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not
thanking you at all. DO NOT say ‘you’re welcome’. That will bring on
a ‘whatever’).

(8) Whatever: Is a woman’s way of saying F—- YOU!

(9) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement,
meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several
times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man
asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response, refer to # 3.

Diggin through the archives...

wow... you never know what you'll find when you go back through your old emails...

i was looking at them today and ran across this little gem i thought was lost forever.

its a personal narrative i had to do for one of my english classes back in the day, it was a wednesday, lol

(according to Dane Cook anytime someone says "back in the day" they are always referring to wednesday... lmao. i dunno, if i gotta explain the joke i guess that takes some of the humor out of it.)

Anywho... without further adieu...

“William, how many times have I told you to stop swinging things around? You’re going to hurt somebody.”

“But look Ma, I’m a ninja!”

“William--“

“Watch this!!”

“--Look out for your sister!!”

Before that moment, I was probably one of the meanest older brothers in history. After that fated incident, I was very overprotective of my younger sister. I guess when you see someone at their weakest and most vulnerable state; you’d do anything to keep them from feeling like that again.

When my sister was born, I was only four years old. I was still too young to even understand where children came from. But when my ‘new sister’ was finally brought home, needless to say I was less than thrilled. One thing that really stood out was something my mother said to me after the new baby was settled in her room. I specifically remember my mother saying this. “You have to look out for her you know. She’s not as big as most babies. When she gets older, you have to make sure she doesn’t get picked on by the bigger kids.” Unfortunately, I didn’t take that to heart until about 3 years later.

It was a nice day, so my mother decided to take my sister and me to the local pizzeria, our “hangout spot”. For some reason, I decided to pick up this thick plastic piping. I was into martial arts and Power Rangers as a child, so I began to pretend I could do the moves. Not heeding the warnings of my ever-so-watchful mother, I spun, twirled, and attacked thin air. As I turned around, I failed to notice my little sister standing off to my right. As the pipe I held came into contact with the left side of her face, I froze. Within the next three seconds, I came to a terrible realization. How horrible of a brother must I be to let something like this happen? Blood, tears, and a trip to the emergency room immediately followed. That could have possibly been one of the longest car rides in my life. I sat in the backseat hanging my head in shame, trying to hide the fact that I was on the verge of tears. The emergency room was even worse. As I sat in the lobby, all I could hear was the screaming of a three-year-old receiving medical stitches near her left eye. An inch and a half more and she would have been blinded. On the drive home, nobody spoke. No radio, we just rode quietly, the silence broken intermittently by the sniffles and whimpers of the injured.

So I became what I felt was the ideal big brother. Of course we had the occasional spat, but let anyone else mess with her and all she had to do was tell me. I dealt with my share of neighborhood bullies, mainly consisting of boys who were at that age where they liked to pick on little girls. Dealing with these boys was easy, but every once in a while I would have to protect myself against their older and much bigger family members. I rarely came out victorious in these situations, but no pain could match how bad I felt for what I had done.

Thinking back, it seems like it was all a dream. But that dream is brought to reality every time I look at the scar in the corner of her left eye. It hurts to even glance at it, small as it may be. We haven’t spoken about that incident for quite some time now. It has always seemed like one of those things that we try to forget. But I can never forget, that was the defining moment that made me realize how much I love my little sister.

Peace.

ABC poem

Exploring new forms of poetry in the Soul Of A Poet group on campus...
this one is called the ABC poem...

Anytime, Anyplace we can get it jumpin
Break of dawn, we still pumpin
Cant stop, wont stop
Damn, if these sheets could talk. Her
Elegance radiates through my thoughts
For days on end

And ive been on like a haiku binge for the past week... im hooked, lol

you and i are like/ the student and the teacher/ bow to your sensei #haiku LMAO!!

@Camille_Rivers breathe deeply in it / for it is good for your soul / dont ever let go

A full moon tonight./ i wonder what mysteries/ the night will bring me.

The world is different/ through these city bus windows./ my people struggle

Natures resilience./ it is unfathomable./ trees grow from concrete.

im not gonna sit/ around and waste my precious/ divine energy... tryna explain and/ being afraid of what you/ think is wrong with me #haiku

complacency you/ ain't gonna get me, oh no/ i gotta get up

How can i pitch? We/ were supposed to be on the/ same team. Remember? #haiku

When im at the plate/ i'll bring you home. L.B.I./ love batted in. Muah. #haiku

@Mz_Ki change your looking glass/ ugliness we think we see/is usually false

@Mz_Ki Shadows mean no harm/ only mirror and mimick/ fear nothing track star #haiku

@Camille_Rivers keep your head skyward/ looking down leads to falling/ but never fear it

I feel you drifting/ further away and i won't/ just let it happen #haiku

Stop running away/Your feet have to be tired/ you can rest them here #Haiku

its easy for you/ to erase me so quickly/ you're stained on my heart

I saw it coming/ i was just climbing back but/ you gave up on me

If im the target,/ Lock and load. If you don't mind,/ aim straight for the heart

one day you're gonna/ look back and say to yourself/ "i treated him bad"

I guess following/ your heart can lead you down some/ pretty dark alleys

Try to forget you/ but youre all I wanna do/ I can do better/ but theres no one quite like you

To go back in time/ hindsight is 20-20/ put your glasses on #haiku
Wanted u with me/ but u gave up so quickly/ why did you forfeit? #haiku

She says she wants me/ but she wants that old thing back/ im a changed man babe #haiku

Seeking out others./ an ineffective measure/ in finding true self #haiku

Smoke, schemes and mirrors/ sovereignty as a nation/ is an illusion #haiku

One sip of your soul/ is worth my weight in gold. I/ have expensive taste #haiku

Take me as i am/ or you'll have nothing at all/ no one is perfect #haiku

I hate the fact that/ papa was a rolling stone/ youre not a real man #haiku

Why the sacrifice?/ was what you gained worth all of/ the things you gave up? #haiku

Charles Hamilton - The Honeymoon Is Over

I swear this is the realest love song I have ever written
This aint a love song, it’s a real song

[Chorus]
Baby, come back
Any kind of fool could see (Uh, it’s Charles Hamilton)
There was something in everything about you
Baby, come back
You can blame it all on me (Blame me, Right? Shit.)
I was wrong and I just cant live without you

[Verse 1]
Well well, here are another argument
Yeah I know, its my fault I always start the shit
This some retarded shit, calling bitches yamps on my blog and shit
Why do I think that’s not the heart of it?
You have a problem with you not me
Cause you got me, I need you aqui (here)
I look at other women and it’s you I see
I do not need to be abused by thee
You do shit for my attention, its senseless
You’re mine; period check the end of the sentence
Simone, took up so much space in my dome
I forget my own face when I roam. I’m on now
Star time, hard times are past me
I'm the driver; cryin’ time is in the backseat
So why do you insist on being in the back of me?
And you get tight when other women wanna ask for me

[Chorus]
Baby, come back
Any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby, come back
You can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just cant live without you

[Verse 2]
Before I met you, I caught mad bodies
You mad, probably, but they mad they aint got me
Copy? I told yo ass, “Sit there cocky”
But nah you wanna black, and now you wanna chat
With some other niggas sending texts in the phone I bought you
How I know you aint showing them tricks that I taught you?
Going to see them niggas in the shit that I bought you
If I wasn’t Charles I would flip and Ike on you
This is my heart you playin’ around with
When niggas eyeball you, they want a round fist
But you’re not used to the attention I guess
As if your hands aint on that beating shit in my chest
Bitch I'm obsessed, getting no rest, turning down celebs
Burn an ounce to the head; I’m certain I’m bout to just
Let go, but no. I love you
But being alone is something that I can’t adjust to

[Chorus]
Baby, come back
Any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby, come back
You can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just cant live without you

[Verse 3]
Keep promising better you gon’ be better
Cause you know me better, on some O.D. letter
But I feel so alone sometimes with you
So much so I bet you think I wrote this shit to diss you
This instrumental, was made out of pain
That you caused, bitch stay out my brain
Stay in my heart, I gave you a part
Love 2.0, I'm state of the art
The only thing that changed is the way that I talk
Everyday you’re in my thoughts, How could you say that I'm lost?
You call me selfish, shit I was before I met you
I let you in, how could you Not feel special?
Don’t wanna hurt you, feels like I might
To me real I can fight, but im a man kinda fly
If something does happen, blame it on rap
You can hate me I'm whack, but imma still say…

[Chorus]
Baby, come back
Any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
(Tough love, Toughen up. I love you, Charles Hamilton, One)
Baby, come back
You can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just cant live without you

Baby, come back
Any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby, come back
You can blame it all on me
I was wrong and I just cant live without you

How many times am i gonna post the same poem?

Until it stops being so true.

Until i stop having things to add to it.

Until it stops plaguing my mind each and every waking moment...

"Lets Spend Some Time"

Lets spend some time.

Let my... eyes inhale in your divine beauty,
because truly the smell of you on my pillow
is what helps me wake up in the morning,
reminiscing on the night before. You---
Might be more to me than some jump off,
i dont know maybe my heart has gone soft,
but i cant let this one slip away....

Is this the day where i wake up expecting to
see you, only to breathe through a sigh of
despair when you're not there?

I need you and its not fair.

From here the road to the future is not clear,
And in the past my heart has fought fear.

A losing battle, this is proving to be the
Toughest thus far.

But I WILL win this war.

Still… She belongs to no one.

You just try to hold on to her for as long as humanly possible acting on whatever feels logical.

I'm bout to go cool out to the mellow jazz soundtrack at Sweet Lorraine’s and try to forget the pain lodged in my cerebral membrane the thought of her leaving leaves me insane

the first time I felt this I nearly cried
and on the second time around I kneeled and died
from a feeling that cant be avoided by shielding eyes.

Tell me, what exactly is the appeal of lies?

I.. know that nigga cant make you as thrilled as I… Did.

So now what I don’t have, I must give
I left my heart unguarded when I gave you that rib.
But..
It’s yours, keep it.

And maybe one day it will be something that she cuddles up to sleep with
And recollect on the mornings I would greet her with a deep kiss…

Sweet lips.

That’s what I used to call her
And if all else falters. I still have the memories of our plans to stand up on that alter.

See, she gives me something worth fighting for.
Hearing her voice is like experiencing the tightest chord
played by a blind braided up man from Saginaw, Michigan.

God damn, baby you make me wonder.

You can see me under my societal shields strategically placed for saving face.
Your penetrating glare commands attention with a blazing pace, now I'm missing your amazing grace.

The memories ingrained on my gray matter may shatter what’s left of my heart, but...
I knew that from the start.

Peace.

Damn Blog abuse...

I know I know... i never write in this thing anymore. and i only ever visit this damn site when i wanna get up on my soapbox and say some shit... this is no different, lol. nothin but another RT rant...

-what’s the purpose of burning a cd with all the hot new songs when they play the same list of songs on the radio?

-This Kamaal the abstract joint is some fire though... gotta break the monotony #cmonson

-its restoring my faith in hip-hop right now that something that was shelved for so long can come out years l8r & still sound relevant

-Ah... now THIS is Hip-Hop... I dunno what them otha cats talkin' bout!

-nowadays its like if you aint talkin some "i got money, i have a cool car, fly clothes, and plenty of bitches" you gets no play...

-get up and start rappin about unification, love and happiness and niggas look at you crazy...

-gotta break this gangsta rapper syndrome...

-So i have this theory that the music industry is evil, and that the "powers at be" purposefully select certain artists over others depending on their content and what message they want to send to people.

-the power of music is incredible, but when used for evil, it takes the soul out of it... hence "hip hop is dead"

-has anyone else noticed the lack of positivity in the music biz as of late?

-Dre 3000!!! WE NEED YOU!!!
-@FatBellyBella WE NEED YOU!!
-@realtalibkweli WE NEED YOU!!!
-@JayElectronica WE NEED YOU!!!
-@questlove WE NEED YOU!!!

-We also need College Dropout era Kanye West

-We need an A Tribe Called Quest reunion!!

-We need another Aquemini!!!

-Fuck a Soulja Boy, Fuck a Gucci Mane, Fuck a OJ the Juiceman, Fuck a Plies... the list goes on...

-When the song getting the most spins on the radio is "Let's All Get Wasted" we have arrived at a sad place america... just sad

-Y'all dont hear me though...

-i could go on and on about this topic, but id just be wastin my breath... or my fingertips at least, lol

-Oh, and lest we forget @Haywood83 WE NEED YOU!!!

-whew... its been a minute since i went on a twitter rant, lol

Read these

The disrespect our President receives is appalling to say the least. Many say that this disrespect has noting to do with the fact that President Obama happens to be Black. I beg to differ. Following are a couple articles that bring up similar viewpoints.

Joe Wilson:
http://www.opednews.com/articles/The-Racial-Context-for-Joe-by-The-Project-on-Rac-090910-824.html

Some people felt it was inappropriate for our President to speak with a group of children. Something past presidents have ALWAYS done:
http://raceproject.org/2009/09/dont-talk-to-strangers-obama-as-other.html

Of course the White House has to remain neutral on the matter:

Some of the anti-Obama signs seen at rallies across the country:

Blog Abuse RT

"It been a long time/ I shouldnt have left you... without a dope {blog} to step to"
(c) Eric B. & Rakim

damn. havent posted in a LONG while. im just RTing though... maybe ill be inspired to post after homework...

-damn... racism is alive and kickin i tell ya!! over something like interrupting a speech for a pointless award. http://bit.ly/3jbX5U
-as rude as it was, does that mean he should be hung by the KKK? some people think so... "racism still alive they just be concealin it"
-its a crying shame i tell you... seems like they've been lookin for someone to hate ever since Obama got elected...
-They're goin at MR. Obama pretty tough too. Ive never seen so much disrespect to the president of the United States in my LIFE...
-Joe Wilson needs to be relieved of his duties...
-Question: When Joe Wilson interrupted the PRESIDENT why didnt people care? But when Kanye cut in it was the worst thing on the planet? SMDH.
-Why is it that in this country we place so much importance on what the fuck CELEBRITIES are doing?
-And the only time we tune in to what the people who are REALLY runnin shit are doing is when they have a Spitzer/ Clinton type scandal...
-lmao. in other words, we so caught up on whos runnin the town, we're not even paying attention to whos runnin the country...
-yall dont hear me tho.

Or do yall? I just think its interesting to compare and contrast the two incidents. I mean, Barack Obama is the PRESIDENT of one of the richest and most powerful nations in this world. Joe Wilson interrupted a speech about the very pressing issue of a national health care. Something that millions of uninsured people (like myself) can benefit from for years to come. Kanye West interrupted an acceptance speech for an award that will not matter next year when someone else wins it.

Since when did people start watchin the VMAs ANYWAY?

And since when have we put so much weight on famous people that this Kanye/ Taylor situation could shadow something like the Obama/ Wilson dilemma?

On top of that... Kanye didnt even bomb the stage that well... ODB still holds that title for his Grammy Interruption.

At least ODB said something more than "Beyonce had the best video of all time" which is NOT true. How are you gonna go in on someone elses loss like that? I can see if YOU lost to someone, but where the hell do you get off?

That Wilson outburst got swept under the rug real quick, but white people are PISSED about this Taylor Swift thing. som much that some are tweeting the Kanye should be hung by the KKK. By the same logic, Joe Wilson should be shot by the BPP (not saying go do it, just pointing out a flawed logic!!)

The Wilson incident is alot worse to me however. I feel like no one would DARE disrespect a white President during a nationally/globally televised address of that nature. I mean, for an example go back just a year ago and take a look at dear old President Bush. Bush told SEVERAL lies over the course of his presidency. (The 9/11 conspiracy, The Katrina Conspiracy, Reasons for going into Iraq, etc. just to name a few) And I'm SURE there were a few people who felt very strongly against what the man was saying, ut they still held their composure and did not disrespect the man in front of millions.

And to get angry enough now over something that could HELP MILLIONS to yell "you lie" during a national address bewilders me. I guess some people only get seriously passionate about how the system is working when it isnt working for them. But when blood oil dollars are keeping them in office and in that upper 10th percentile, they could care less what happens to the other 90%.

Ay! ok i need to stop and do homework, otherwise i'll be stuck here all night. lol. I guess i'll wrap this up by saying that we need to take notice of the things that we as a society place Value in. I'm really beginning to weigh the importance of certain things i do in my life. Like is watching the latest happenings on Tiny & Toya all that necessary when the heathcare reform speech i missed is 2 channels up?

No.

Not really.

I gotta go with what effects me most. Toya learning to swim is not comparable to me knowing if i can go to the hospital or not after i drown. I guess its called growing up... Ugh, and I hate to say that.

Some people may disagree, but hey this is MY blog. lol.

Till next time,
Peace.

My YP4 poem

“Call to action”

Living under an assumed identity this double consciousness was created and is upheld by the same oppressive regime that still reigns to this day.

A regime that sparked an idea and became pregnant in it, giving birth to the very concepts that have held us captive since conception.

A verbal erection encapsulating us within the confines of societies womb.

Consequential climactic cataclysms creating the constant decline of a people whose destiny is aligned with the stars -- not behind bars.

They say we come from the motherland but they’d rather see my brothers and me trapped in the sands of time.

Soldiers and believers of a dream dreamt by millions that has yet to manifest, but my people are still here fighting to stand the test of a raw war with a double edged sword, leaving them rich and greedy and us deprived and needy. To survive while pleading for a hand to assist, missed by the eyes of a society that lies and pretends to be blind. Any true seer would stop and shed a tear after witnessing those lost somewhere between love and fear.

So we must stand!

Not AGAINST those who oppose, but for what we believe IN!!

For:

Slave Hymns and Native Winds
Gay Rights and Civil Fights
Radicalism and Afrocentrism
H.I.V. and Children In Need
Feminism and Student Activism
Immigration and Gentrification

Change the Station!!

Burst bubbles and start trouble!!
Protest with No rest!!

Take a stand, we all fight for the common good.
Take these plans to your families, your campus, your hood.

“Your Community is My Community”
“Light up the darkness”

Peace.

yep...

I never realized how much i use time in my poetry...

Peace.

"Time will tell"

At times I feel like a reflection of Her,
and staring at her I see a reflection of me.

But eventually, time will tell what it is that we really see.
In actuality, She is my escape, and I Hers.

In each other, We escape from Ourselves
and the hell that We battle with inside.

In this hell We call “home” its hard to
tell the real from the phony.

The only real thing I see is She. She is the truth,
so together We escape,
sexually and intellectually,
until We must part ways.

(The darker the days,
the more rain will fill these pages.)

But it has been said that “what is meant to be will be”
and this is destiny.

Time will tell…

Time has told,
and in this meeting of souls,
two star-crossed lovers unite to
watch their destiny unfold.

Peace.
